Hovander Park

We spent yesterday afternoon at Hovander Park with Carter.  We had such a great time, feeding the animals, walking on the boardwalk, climbing towers, rideing the tractor, and playing on the playset.  The boys were little troopers as we walked through the whole entire park, Kayla on the other hand is pokey and I had to cary her most of the time.
There were 2 turkeys that were so awesome.  Everytime you were near them they would poof up there feathers and make a weird sound with them, it was really funny watching the kids jump back every time they heard it!
Walking the boardwalk was a little scary with 3 kids by myself, I was just waiting for one of them to fall in.  But we all made it through dry, amazingly, and had lots of fun walking it.
Buddies
I saw a frog or a fish splash here so we all had so sit and wait for it to come back so the kids could see it.  (It never did reappear) but the kids have great imaginations and just pretended they saw it.
Besides the fact that Makayla has only one spead (SLOW!) she had to stop and pick all the dandelions she could find.  She drove me a little crazy when she wanted to walk, but we made it out before the rain hit.

They boys were so cute making wishes and blowing all the seeds.
One of the tall towers we climbed.
I think they were a little tired at the end.

Catching Up

I've been getting behind on my kids scrapbooks since I've been useing so much of my time to make bows.  We had 2 sick days here with the kids so while I was sitting on the couch with them I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to catch up.  Well, I got Aiden caught up, Kayla's a little behind yet.  Here are a few that I was working on.

View from my Window

This is what I was seeing outside my window yesterday.  It is great because it means spring is here, but it made me sad too.  It also means that busy season for Mike is about to start and I become a single mom for a few months.

Chicken Coop Progress

We are working to get the chicken coop finished before Mike gets busy at work.  His Dad has come over a lot to help and has made it go so much faster and smoother.  We have the wall up and painted and the roof on so far, a good thing to because our chickens are growning so fast.
Our dirty little helpers.
The kids have been so good while we work.  They play so nice for us.  There is a huge dirt field right next to the coop so the run through it and climb the dirt pile.  It is so awesome how dirt can be so much fun to them.
I don't think this girl could have gotten any more dirty if she tried.  The combo of sunscreen, and popsicles created a very sticky surface though.  We had to crack out all of Aiden's old jeans for her to wear b/c this is what she looks like everytime she plays outside.
We have found out that Aiden is a great little painter too.  He helped me with a lot of the priming and some of the painting of the walls.  We gave him a roller and he went to town on it.

Fruit, Chickens & Backyard Fun

I'm so excited for this summer.  We planted 5 fruit trees last year and we are hoping to get a little bit of fruit off of them this year, along with that I got a box of strawberries.  I'm hoping to get a second one if I can find one.  We can't wait to go out the front door and pick fresh fruit!
Our chickens have grown a lot in the last 2 1/2 weeks.  They are ugly already too.  But Mike came home last weekend with 3 more little guys to add to the bunch.  We can't wait to eat there eggs!
The chicken coop is coming along.  All the walls are built, we now have to decide on what to put on the outside of it.
Funny Aiden, when I was walking back from taking the coop pictures I saw a little eye peeking at me.
Backyard Excitement.
We were playing in the backyard all morning and all the kids were gathered in a circle.  It was fun to see what they all thought was so entertaining.
This was the little culpruit.
Makayla was the only one brave enough to touch the worm.
Her reaction was really funny.  She screamed and giggled like a little girl.

CUTE!

We were just about to go to church this morning and the kids looked so cute I had to snap a few pictures quick.
Aiden is always coming up with cute poses when I take his pictures.
I curled Makayla's hair this morning for the first time.  It turned out so cute.  She even wore her hat the whole morning at church.  I wasn't sure if she would let me even put it on her.

My Sweet Son

Aiden has been outside every day possible.  Now that the dandelions are in bloom he has been picking every one he finds for me.  He brings them to me and is so proud to be picking me flowers that he thinks are beautiful and makes sure that I put them in water so they don't die.  Such simple things can be so sweet.  He has such a sensative side that I love so much.

More Flowers & Bows

I found some new small Gerber daisys that are so bright and fun for spring/summer.  There is also a black with white pokadots.
I'm finally getting a few korker(curly) bows ready to sell.  I'm making some really cute bright ones too I just didn't have any ready this morning.
I now have them for sale at Time Keepers & Eastside Hair in Lynden.

Meeting the Sweet new Baby

We went to Kenzie's over Easter weekend and were able to meet baby Emmalyn.  She is adorable, sweet and cuddly.  We all couldn't get enough of her and would have been very willing to just take her home with us!  Aiden loved talking to her and holding her.  He really wants them to be our neighbors.
Makayla loved holding her for short periods.  It was really cute.  She looks like such a natural!  She was more interested in playing with Kausten and all his toys though.

Dyeing Easter Eggs.
We thought that it would be fun to let the kids dye Easter eggs.  They all got very involved and had a great time.  They only smashed a few and didn't even spill any of our 15 colors.

Easter Morning
We thought that it would be nice to get a picture of the kids looking cute on Easter morning.  Well with 4 kids under 4 and under it didn't go perfect.  We got a lot of cute shots anyway.
This picture makes me a little sad.  Makayla is looking so old now.  I can't even try to say she still looks like a baby.  She is now my little girl who is growing up way more quickly than I'm ready for.
These 2 are such close siblings.  They are so good and playing together and making up very imaginative games.  One of them is always some sort of an animal.  I hope that they stay this close as them grow up.
Cute cousins!
