BEACH BABY! ! !

We spent the day at Birch Bay yesterday.  We had such a great day.  My Mom met us there and the kids couldn't have had a better day!  Aiden and Jake ended up swimming in the ocean and Aiden ended with his shorts full of sand!
(Don't you love how Aiden ALWAYS has his shoes on the wrong feet.)
Makayla didn't have as much fun as Aiden.  Right away she fell and cut her knee on the barnacles.  Luckily I had a first aid kit in my car!  Then her boots rubbed big sores in her legs.  Other than that she had a lot of fun.

These 2 boys are such great friends.

After spending a long time on the sandy side of the beach we drove down to the State Park to check out the crabs.  The boys had such a great time catching them all and finding all the creatures.  Makayla was all into finding the Muscles.  She loved ripping them off of the rocks.
Showing off there catch.
What a fun day!  I think we will be doing a lot more of that this summer.  We ended our day by stopping by the Farmers Market on the way home.  We all had ice cream and checked out there Coy pond.  It is awesome.  There are so many huge fish and they all just swim right up at the top!  So cool.  You have to check it out if you go there.  But be careful, Kayla (of course) slipped on the edge and I barely caught her.  Yikes!  Don't get to close!

Cute Do's

I came across this idea of how to make your little girls hair curly.  I decided to give it a try since Kayla has such straight hair and I'm always looking for new looks and hairstyles for her.  The curling trick worked FANTASTIC!  I love it so much!!  She has to go to bed looking funny but it is so worth it.
This is the after effect of all my efforts the night before.  I'm thinking it is pretty awesome.  Mike was really hoping at least one of his kids would inherit his curls. . .but it's not looking to promising.  So now at least Kayla can have curls some of the time!
Another one of my favorite styles that looks so cute on her.
This is another hairsyle I did on her that looked beautiful, but. . . . it didn't last longer than 10 min.  She plays to rough to hold in this one.  I might try it again when she's older and doesn't act so much like a boy, if that ever happens!
This is just a pic of her in my favorite dress.  I finally convinced her to wear it.  Now she loves it, thank goodness!!  I was so sad when she refused to wear it.

Bring on Summer!

We had such a fantastic morning in the sun today.  The kids have been begging to swim so I agreed that after I was finished mowing the lawn I would put out the slip 'n slide.  They weren't patient enough to wait so while I mowed they found some great puddles to 'swim' in.  It was really funny and of course I missed my Kodak moment, but got some pure delight shots of them on the slip 'n slide.  We are so excited to have some sunny weather, we just hope it sticks around so we can have more of this fun!

Chicken Farmers

Our kids are definatly taking after there Dad in the chicken department.  They LOVE them so much.  They are always in their pen catching them and holding them.  They have no fear of them at all.

Aiden is very proud of them and is always helping take care of them.  He keeps informing me that it is going to be his job to collect all there eggs.  I sure hope he follows through on that one!!!

We now have 16 chickens!  They are getting huge already too.  The ones they are holding in the pictures are the smaller baby ones.  The big ones are in the background.
