Our Road Trip to California

We made a road trip to California for the farm show. We had a great time. The kids were so great. Neither of them cried the whole way there or home. Aiden loved it, he was so excited to be going to California he didn't even care how long we were in the car for. This is us having breakfast about an hour before we got to Doug and Jamie's house. We went to Safeway, in PJ's and boots and got some donuts and ate on the bumper. Luckily we had Washington plates so it didn't look like we were living in our car.

Soon after we got there Aunt Judy stoped by with heart cookies for the kids to decorate.

Doug giving horse rides for the kids. They have an awesome farm that the kids had a great time playing on. I think they had a few of almost every animal.

We made it to the farm show with the kids. They had such a great time. It was like a giant tractor playground for them.

Aiden and Mike checking out ALL of the John Deere tractors. Aiden was having the time of his life at the farm show.

Mike with Aiden and cousin James in the big Combine.

Makayla wanted to give Aiden a ride on her tractor.

The poor little guys couldn't keep their eyes open. Jacobus fell asleep on Makayla's shoulder. It was so adorable.

Our little Cowboy with his Cowgirl cousin. They were the best of friends all week long.

We stoped by to visit some friends and they had puppies! ! The kids couldn't have been happier.

They day we left it started getting really sunny and warm. We made a trip to the park to get the kids all tired out before out LONG trip home. They had such a fun park to play at.

I couldn't resist a Palm Tree picture. They were so beautiful. I loved looking at them all in everyone's yards. They all had Orange and Lemon Trees that were ripe right now! ! We couldn't believe it. What a difference.

Aiden and Daddy.

We had a great time visiting in California, we might even make another trip down next year. Everything went so smooth and we had such a great time. On the way home we stopped at Kenzie's house for a break and we spent the day with her. I told Aiden when we were there that we weren't in California anymore and he threw himself on the floor crying that he wanted to stay in California forever. It was really funny. And he would have been totally willing to get back in the car and drive all they way back without a complaint. He is an awesome, easy traveler.

  1. My goodness, you guys are brave! But obviously your kids were amazing little travel companions, so that helps! I am always in awe of the palm trees and citrus trees in California too! I'm glad you guys had such a good time...you should make it an annual tradition!
